contemporary mosaic art

The exhibition ConneXion at Haus Maikammer, Zentrum für Arbeitssicherheit der BG RCI tries to give an answer to the question: can the contemporary mosaic art lead to a new assessment of the mosaic and become manifest of a new artistic esteem.
Under the theme ConneXion the exhibition shows 45 works by 31 artists from Germany, Israel, Italy and Spain.
Free of traditional commitment every artist shows his individual handwriting. Creative possibilities of mosaic art hardly have any limits, since zeitgeist and pluralism of different stiles absolutely allow a coexistence of modern and classic design.
In the presence of 18 artists, even Yael Blumberger came all the way from Israel, Thomas Köhler (BG RCI) welcomed us and about 200 art lovers gathered in the assembly hall. Then Dr. Martin Stather (art historian, Kunstverein Mannheim) held a laudatory speech emphasizing the immense variety of work and the phantastic possibilities Mosaic art is able to.
